My name is Ed McCormick. I'm a newcomer to Liberty Corner having moved from Millington, NJ a few miles away
in July of 2008. Because Liberty Corner was steeped in so much history and is such a diverse community, containing farms,
beautiful homes and major office building, I was compelled to learn more by spending a number of evenings in the Bernards
Township Library. This website is the culmination of the information I found which I gladly share.
We
purchased a home on four acres on Mine Brook Road where we are surrounded by woods and have a small creek along our Eastern
boundary. The house was build in 1986 and needs a great deal of work to update. But since I enjoy that and since the property
was so bucolic we decided to make the purchase. Since the purchase, every day in Liberty Corner is a great day.
There
are the ups and downs as with any new project. Such as discovering after our purchase that our property is located in
wetlands and that there is supposed to be red shouldered hawk on the endangered species list that we must watch out for. I
also discovered that in order to do some of the improvements to our property, the town required that I deed over a stream
buffer easement to them.
